Permit Applications
The Lenawee County Road Commission oversees the various types of permits required by citizens before performing road work or special hauling. Please read the descriptions below to help you identify the appropriate permit for your application:
Drive Access Permits
A drive access permit is used when determining if a driveway can be placed on a piece of property. It can be used for a land split in order to confirm that a driveway can be placed on both sections of a split piece of property.
Driveway Permits
When upgrading or constructing a new residential, commercial or field driveway, a driveway permit is required before work can begin.
Right-of-Way Permits
When projects involve work areas directly off the edge of the road, a Right-of-Way permit is required. The Right-of-Way area is generally considered to be anywhere within 33 feet of the center of the road.
Transportation Permits
Any entity that is applying for an oversize or overweight load permit with the Lenawee County Road Commission must use the Oxcart permitting software. Lenawee County Road Commission no longer processes transportation related permits in person.
You can register with Oxcart by visiting their website and completing their sign up process. Oxcart provides the following benefits to registered companies/persons.
